FORT COLLINS, Colo. —Rams Cycling returned from the 2007 Collegiate Mountain
Bike Nationals in Banner Elk, N.C. with a silver medalist and a 7th place
team omnium finish. Amanda Miller finished within minutes of the USA
Cycling U23 Cross Country Mountain Bike National Champion and Luna Chix
professional rider, Chole Forsman (Tucson, Ariz./University of Arizona) in a
tight sprint against the University of Tennessee-Chattanoo

ga's Jamie
Dinkins, for second place.

"She rode the downhill and I walked it because it was really muddy
and I did not want to crash and take myself out of the race," Miller said.
"I am so thankful I was able to make it. Collegiate cycling is great! It
is so nice to have other women teammates to ride with and for."

Rams Cycling had several top 20 finishes in the Division I
cross-country race on Friday that tested rider's mental and running ability
more than their cycling. After an extremely dry summer in the mountains of
northwestern North Carolina, the area had been riddled with nearly a week of
rain, leaving the technical Lees-McRae College cross country course soaked
for the start of the race. Nick Truitt finished 18th, with Caley Fretz
close behind in 20th. Jon Vivolo, who only recently upgraded to men's A in
the conference season finished in 26th. Sarah Rawley finished the women's
Division I race in 18th and Megan Cassidy finished in 27th.

The lack of gravity riders for nationals sent Truitt flying down
the downhill course Saturday morning, scoring 11 points for the team's
omnium results. Riders jumped onto the short track course shortly after for
a threshold-bursting half hour of muddy roots and singletrack. The women
rode hard, almost too hard when Rawley broke her chain 10 minutes into the
race.

"I figured that I would just run until I got pulled. I got some
points out of it at least," Rawley said.

Miller had another outstanding race, finishing in 6th place for an
overall 5th place in the omnium.

The men had some tough competition in a field of 73 riders, where
only a third of the riders even got to finish. Chris Hall took his road
fitness and drilled the course for 20th place, with Truitt right behind in
21st.

Rams Cycling came home with a 7th overall team finish for the
2007 Collegiate Mountain Bike Nationals.

"It was a matter of having numbers," said T.G. Taylor, president
of Rams Cycling. "We definitely have the talent. If we would have even had
one more girl and a few gravity riders, we would have been up there on the
podium."

Rams Cycling finished strong at conference regionals on October
20-21 in Gunnison, Colo. Rams Cycling was the closest it has ever been to
winning the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cycling Conference Championship.
Within 100 points of Fort Lewis College, this is the difference of one extra
team member finishing a race. There were several podium finishes for
overall season point standings including: individual endurance riders Nick
Truitt in 3rd for the men's A, Amanda Miller and Sarah Rawley in 2nd and 3rd
for women's A, Tirrel Grovenstein in third for women's B, Aaron Vaughn in
third in the men's B, and Quinn Lods in 2nd for men's C. Kyle Hanley took
third for individual gravity results.

Rams Cycling wishes to thank race and team sponsors including
Peloton Cycles, Specialized, Dohn Construction Inc., 1 st Endurance
Nutritional Supplements,CSU Bookstore and Friends of Rams Cycling for all of
their support throughout the season.

Rams Cycling is now looking forward to build upon its incredible
mountain bike season with a strong season on the road.

"We are carrying over a lot of talent, and also bringing new talent
to the stage which I believe is going to do wonders for the team," Taylor
said. "You never know how good a rider is until you get them on the road
and push them."

Rams Cycling is holding its third annual Fiesta Fundraiser on
November 15 in hopes of a successful road season. The entire community is
invited for a night of fun, music, food and silent auction at the Rio Grande
Restaurant in Old Town, Fort Collins. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased

team in the nation.
